Hyderabad, Oct. 29 -- The Telangana government has directed all departments, universities, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies to strictly follow the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes (SC) in appointments, promotions and admissions to educational institutions, after reports that the rules were not being followed uniformly.

In a memo issued on Monday, October 26, the Scheduled Castes Development Department said it had come to the government's notice that certain departments, heads of departments and district collectors were unclear about how to implement the Telangana Scheduled Castes (Rationalisation of Reservations) Act, 2025, and the rules framed under it.
