Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- A court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and allegedly attempting to pass off the crime as a road accident in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, Telangana, three years ago.

The District and Sessions Court on Tuesday, September 8, convicted Thodasam Shyamrao of Chichupalli after finding him guilty of killing his wife, Sandhyarani. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on him.

According to SP Nitika Pant, Shyamrao had initially approached the police with a different version of events.
