Hyderabad, April 4 -- The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has seized 3,699 LPG cylinders worth Rs 1.10 crore from hoarders and black marketers across the state during a crackdown from March 12- April 3.

Among the seized property, there were 70 small cylinders.

Over 1200 cases booked

As part of the crackdown the department registered 1,275 cases under Section 6A of the Essential Commodities Act, while the police have registered 216 First Information Reports (FIR).

The provision enables district collectors to confiscate essential commodities in cases of suspected hoarding and black-marketing.
