Hyderabad, April 2 --  The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) on Thursday, April 2, issued a revised schedule for the conduct of elections to Ward no 6 of Makthal Municipality in Narayanpet district, following the adjournment of the earlier poll due to the death of a candidate.

The SEC said the election process for the ward was halted after the demise of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Erukali Mahadevappa ahead of polling, which was originally scheduled on February 11.

In accordance with the Telangana Municipalities and Municipal Corporations (Conduct of Election of Members) Rules, 2019, the BJP was given seven days to nominate a replacement candidate, which it has since done.
