New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- A delegation of INDIA bloc MPs met with President Droupadi Murmu over their demand for Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar's resignation following alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls even as some of them staged a dharna late on Friday, October 9.

Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, and CPI (M) MP MA Baby, TMC's Mamata Banerjee, NCP's Supriya Sule, and NC's Omar Abdullah were a part of the delegation.

After the meeting, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee said, "The President has assured of an investigation, sought evidence."
