Pezeshkian says Iran 'not looking for war' but vows response
Hyderabad, Aug. 31 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday, August 31, that Tehran "is not looking for war" but would "never sit still in the face of any aggression", as tensions between Iran and the United States flared again after weeks of relative calm.
Speaking before leaving for Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to attend the summit of heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation countries, Pezeshkian said Iran would "give a decisive response to the aggressors" if attacked.
"Instability and unrest in the region are not in the interest of any country and will challenge everyone," he added.
