Hyderabad, Oct. 23 -- The state-level Census Coordination Committee on Friday, October 23, reviewed preparations for Census 2027 and the progress made so far at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju at the Secretariat.

The Director of Census Operations, Telangana, Bharati Holikeri, gave a detailed overview of the census process. She said that the first phase, comprising house listing and housing census, had been completed in the state.

The second phase involving population enumeration would be done in January and February 2027, she said. She said that the facility for self-enumeration would also be made available to citizens 15 days before the process begins.
