Hyderabad, Oct. 23 -- A 22-year-old woman and her mother were killed in an accident in Nirmal district on Thursday, October 22.

The accident occurred at Kadthal Y Junction, Soan Mandal, when a lorry rammed into an ambulance. The victims were identified as Saraswati and ParoBai, 50, who were travelling in the ambulance from Adilabad to a government hospital in Nizamabad.

Saraswati was admitted to a hospital in Adilabad due to health issues and was referred to the government hospital in Nizamabad.

Speaking to Siasat.com, Soan Circle Inspector B Govardhan Reddy said, "The accident occurred at 10:40 pm, when the lorry driver, coming from the opposite direction, hit the ambulance since he was drunk."
