Hyderabad, Sept. 16 -- A Nampally court has sentenced a 40-year-old man to 15 days' simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 3,050 for assaulting a home guard on traffic duty, a day after the incident, in the second such case reported in the city this month.

Pallapu Srinivas, a labourer from Jiyaguda, was convicted by the IV Special Judicial Magistrate P Savithri Devi at the Manoranjan Complex, Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, on Wednesday, September 16.

Assault during traffic duty

According to the police, home guard M Bhaskar was deployed on traffic regulation duty near Nehru School under the Kulsumpura Police Station limits on Tuesday, September 15, when Srinivas bypassed a road diversion in place at the spot.
