Hyderabad, April 3 -- In a case of honour killing, a father allegedly murdered his 22-year-old daughter for marrying a man of her choice in Macharla town of Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district.

The victim, Chaudeshwari, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on March 18. While her death was suspected to be a suicide, following a post-mortem and further investigation, the police confirmed that it was a murder.

It is learned that Chaudeshwari's father, Chandrashekar, had arranged a marriage for his daughter with a teacher. However, Chaudeshwari did not like this match. Instead, she eloped with her now husband, Nagaraj.
