Bengaluru, Oct. 3 -- The Karnataka government has directed officials to strictly follow the provisions of the Secretariat Manual-2005 to ensure faster disposal of files and reduce delays in administrative decision-making.

The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has issued a circular instructing section officers and senior officials not to keep new correspondence or files pending without valid reasons. Files received during the day should be disposed of on the same day, wherever possible. In unavoidable cases, officials must record the reasons for the delay in writing and bring them to the notice of their superiors.
