Hyderabad, April 1 -- Qatar was targeted by three cruise missiles launched from Iran, the country's defence ministry said on Wednesday, April 1, adding that two were intercepted while the third struck an oil tanker leased to QatarEnergy.
In a post on X, QatarEnergy said the Aqua 1 crude oil tanker was struck early on Wednesday in Qatar's northern territorial waters, adding that there were no injuries among the crew and no environmental impact. Authorities said all 21 crew members were safely evacuated.
This comes as the US-Israel war on Iran intensifies across the region on Wednesday, with fresh strikes, casualties and mounting diplomatic tensions reported on multiple fronts.
