Hyderabad, Aug. 12 -- The Nehru Zoological Park here celebrated World Elephant Day by honouring its four Asian elephants on Wednesday, August 12.

The resident pachyderms are Vanaja, Asha, Sita and Vijay (3 females & 1 male).

They were taken out of their enclosures and made to walk all around the zoo, which is approximately 5 kms.

Among the biggest mammals on Earth, the elephants were served a jumbo feast too. They were served loads of fruits, vegetables, and cooked rice, all put together as a 5 kg cake. The 'cake' had bananas, apples, pineapples, oranges, watermelons, sugarcane, coconuts, cucumbers, and carrots.
