Hyderabad, Oct. 24 -- A 26-year-old software engineer employed at Microsoft in Hyderabad died by suicide on Friday, October 23, fearing that his United States (US) visa application would be rejected.

The deceased was identified as Rohit Reddy, a resident of Tejaswininagar under Attapur police limits. He took the extreme step at his residence. According to reports, Reddy wanted to pursue higher education in the US.

His previous visa application had been rejected, and he was anxiously awaiting the result this time. Reddy was in constant touch with his parents, discussing his fears.
