Hyderabad, Aug. 21 -- Three University of Hyderabad students associated with the All India Students' Association (AISA) are sitting on an indefinite hunger strike on the campus over six demands, ranging from menstrual leave to academic support.

The three students, Srestha, Sidhant and Riya, began their strike late on Thursday, August 20, at the North Shopcom. AISA has alleged that despite protests and signature campaigns over the past month, the administration did not pay heed to their demands, forcing them to start the hunger strike.

They also alleged that the administration has barred the erection of tents at the protest site, leaving demonstrators exposed to harsh weather conditions, including heat, rain and mosquito infestation.
