Raichur, Aug. 22 -- In a major development concerning the horrific rape and murder of a 21-year-old woman in Hokrani village under Sirwar taluk, police have taken four individuals into custody and produced the prime suspect in court, leading to his judicial remand.

The victim, identified as Ashwini, went missing after stepping outside her home at night. Her body was later recovered from a well in the village the following morning, prompting a formal investigation into charges of sexual assault and murder.

Following a probe into the circumstances surrounding her death, police apprehended four suspects for questioning.
