Hyderabad, Nov. 5 -- A fire tore through an electric scooter manufacturing unit at Kandi in Sangareddy district on the morning of Thursday, November 5, causing extensive damage to the facility. No one was injured.

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot after the department was alerted and brought the flames under control within an hour.

Firefighters said that the unit suffered heavy property damage. The exact cause is yet to be ascertained, but a preliminary probe indicated that an electrical short circuit could be behind the blaze.
