Hyderabad, July 8 -- Explosions were reported in Iran's Bushehr city and surrounding areas on Wednesday as the United States continued military operations against targets in southern Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile and drone attacks on US military facilities across the Gulf.

The escalation came on the 21st day after Washington and Tehran signed their memorandum of understanding and 130 days since the outbreak of the war.
