Hyderabad, April 3 -- A 20-year-old woman died by suicide on Thursday, April 2, after her partner consumed poison four days before, on March 28, in Telangana's Siddipet district.

Both residents of Musthyala village in Cheriyal Mandal, Harika and Rakesh, began a relationship while living in Hyderabad. After returning to their hometown five months ago, Rakesh's parents objected to their relationship for various reasons. "One reason being that Rakesh's younger sister was yet to get married and she would get fewer matches," Cheriyal Sub Inspector Apoorva Reddy confirmed the double suicide case.

Speaking to Siasat.com, SI Reddy said, "After they returned from Hyderabad, they were both told to live separately with their own families."
