Hyderabad, Nov. 2 -- Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M Ramesh has invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against a habitual drug peddler, Sachin Gangaram Maruti Chavan.

Chavan, a native of Solapur, Maharashtra, has been involved in drug peddling with an intention to earn easy money, police said on Monday, November 2.

He reportedly procures huge quantities of ganja from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha before transporting it across the region. He then supplies it to his associates and drug consumers at exorbitant prices for unlawful financial gain, Commissioner Ramesh said in a release.
