3.7 tonnes of substandard baby food seized in Bengaluru raid
Bengaluru, Sept. 4 -- The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has conducted a surprise inspection on Thursday September 3 ,at British Lifesciences Private Limited in city and seized a large quantity of baby food products allegedly found to be misbranded and in violation of mandatory labelling norms.
During the inspection, officials found products that allegedly carried improper markings and labelling details, along with expired food products. Given the potential risks associated with substandard food meant for infants and young children, authorities initiated legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
