India, Aug. 10 -- The government has sanctioned 1.53 lakh crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) for power distribution loss reduction and 1.31 lakh crore for smart metering. The scheme covers 19.79 crore consumers, 2.05 lakh feeders and 52.53 lakh distribution transformers, alongside digitalisation and distribution modernisation. This information was given by Minister of State for Power, Shripad Naik in Rajya Sabha Today.
