India, Sept. 19 -- State-owned power major NTPC has terminated a Rs413.37 crore contract awarded to G R Infraprojects Ltd (GRIL) for a 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra. NTPC said the decision followed the contractor's failure to meet contractual obligations and achieve the required progress on the project.

The contract was awarded in March 2026 and was scheduled to be completed within 15 months. According to NTPC, critical project activities experienced significant delays despite repeated engagements with the contractor.
