India, Oct. 8 -- NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has commenced the first-ever commercial sale of Manufactured Sand (M-Sand) produced from overburden soil of Neyveli Mine-I. The sale was flagged off on October 7, 2026, at the M-Sand Plant area of Mine-I, Neyveli.

The initiative marks a significant milestone for NLCIL and demonstrates the company's focus on resource utilisation, circular economy and sustainable mining. The M-Sand is produced by processing overburden soil generated during mining operations, converting a mining by-product into a useful construction material.
