India, Sept. 20 -- Biometric Aadhaar Authentication will be mandatory from October 1, 2026, for domestic LPG consumers seeking refills at the regulated price with applicable subsidy. The government says the move will improve subsidy targeting and prevent duplicate or ineligible connections. As of September 19, 27.43 crore consumers, or 89.9% of active domestic LPG users, had completed authentication.
