India, Sept. 29 -- India's solar manufacturing industry has expanded rapidly in recent years, with the country emerging as a major manufacturing base even as new US trade measures create challenges for exports. The latest Clean Investment Monitor from Rhodium Group shows that India's share of global solar manufacturing investment has increased significantly, while domestic manufacturing capacity continues to expand.

According to the report, India had 242.7 GW of operating solar module capacity by Q2 2026, compared with 40.5 GW of cell capacity and 2.5 GW of wafer capacity.
