India, Aug. 24 -- H1N1 cases rise across India amid seasonal influenza activity
Cases of H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, are rising in several parts of India, particularly in Delhi-NCR and other major cities. Health authorities and doctors have urged people not to panic but to remain alert to flu-like symptoms and follow basic precautions to prevent transmission.
The current increase is being linked to seasonal influenza activity rather than the emergence of a new H1N1 strain. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has clarified that no new H1N1 strain has been detected in India.
