India, Oct. 1 -- The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, convened its second follow-up review and convergence meeting to accelerate drinking water coverage in tribal areas under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA).

Senior officials from the National Jal Jeevan Mission, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and State Water Supply/PHE and Tribal Welfare Departments participated in the meeting. States and Union Territories were urged to convert their earlier commitments into time-bound action and ensure that eligible villages and habitations are not left out.
