India, April 4 -- The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Friday said the rollout of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has gained significant traction, with 3.42 lakh connections gasified and 3.7 lakh new registrations recorded since March 2026.
The ministry has advised states to fast-track PNG connections for both domestic and commercial users as part of efforts to ease pressure on LPG demand amid global supply disruptions.
Reiterating supply stability, the government said petrol, diesel and LPG availability remains adequate, urging citizens to avoid panic buying and unnecessary LPG bookings. Consumers have been encouraged to use digital platforms for cylinder booking and minimise visits to distributors.
