C.R. Paatil Chairs 20th ETF Meeting on Ganga Rejuvenation
India, Oct. 8 -- Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Paatil chaired the 20th meeting of the Empowered Task Force (ETF) on Ganga Rejuvenation in New Delhi, reviewing progress under the Namami Gange Programme and discussing measures to accelerate river rejuvenation. The meeting focused on sewage infrastructure, scientific water management, treated wastewater reuse, groundwater management, biodiversity and Nature-based Solutions.
As of August 2026, 527 Namami Gange projects worth Rs43,266 crore have been sanctioned, of which 368 have been completed. Under sewerage infrastructure, 219 projects have been sanctioned, creating 6,603 MLD of treatment capacity and 5,245 km of sewer network.
