India, March 7 -- State-run oil marketing companies Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) on Friday dismissed social media reports of petrol and diesel shortages in parts of the country, calling the claims "baseless" and "completely unfounded".
In a statement posted on X, BPCL said India's energy supply remains stable with adequate petroleum reserves and uninterrupted supply chains. The company added that its operations are running normally and fuel supplies to consumers remain smooth.
