India, Sept. 17 -- According to preliminary information, Silu entered his girlfriend's house under the influence of alcohol, after which a confrontation ensued. The woman's family members assaulted and killed him before pouring petrol on his body and setting it on fire.

On being informed by locals, Reamal police reached the spot and detained three persons for questioning.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
