India, Sept. 4 -- A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped inside a valve room on the premises of Rourkela railway station in Odisha on Thursday. A Railway employee, identified as 54-year-old Kapileshwar Singh who works as a valve man, has been arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in connection with the case.Odisha tourism guide

According to the complaint filed with the GRP, the woman, a resident of Nuapada district, had arrived at the Rourkela railway station in the morning to travel to Bengaluru. As she did not have a confirmed ticket, she was standing near the station's main entrance.

Singh offered to help her get a confirmed ticket and took her inside the valve room, where the alleged rape took place.
