India, Oct. 17 -- A woman and her son-in-law were killed in a tragic road accident near Jamtal under Jujumura police limits in Odisha's Sambalpur district late at night.

The deceased persons have been identified as Payal Das Gupta (42 years old) and her son-in-law Shekhar Maharaj (30 years old). Both were residents of Raipur in neighbouring Chhattisgarh state.

The victims were rushed to the VIMSAR, where they were declared brought dead.

Five others were injured in the accident. They were admitted to the hospital for treatment.
