India, July 9 -- Addressing the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) at its Jatni campus, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday underscored the pivotal role of science in nation-building.

Encouraging students to nurture curiosity, he urged them to adopt environmentally sustainable technologies and apply their knowledge for the betterment of society. He emphasised scientific expertise is no longer optional but a fundamental driver of progress.

Referring to the graduating students, the Vice President remarked although eminent scientist Homi J. Bhabha is no longer among us, he could see "hundreds of Homi Bhabhas" seated before him.
