India, July 18 -- Two people, including a man and a woman, died in separate snakebite incidents in Odisha's Sundargarh district, police said on Saturday.

Both victims were rushed to the Bonaigarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared them dead.

The first incident was reported from Teldiha village under Bonaigarh police limits. The deceased has been identified as Parshuram Kisan. According to reports, he had gone outside his house to answer nature's call when he was bitten by a venomous snake. Family members immediately rescued him and took him to the Bonaigarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, but doctors could not save his life.
