India, May 10 -- A PhD student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar died after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of a hostel building inside the campus.The deceased has been identified as Tanikonda Nishant Kumar, a research scholar from the Electrical Engineering department. He hailed from Andhra Pradesh.

According to reports, security staff found Nishant lying critically injured after the fall and immediately shifted him to a hospital located inside the campus.

Following the advice of doctors, the student was later shifted to a private hospital in an ambulance for better treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
