India, June 3 -- Several sand mafia members allegedly attacked a mining official and police personnel during a raid on illegal sand transportation from the Amalipali sand ghat in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Wednesday.

According to reports, the official and cops from the Town Police Station conducted a raid at the sand ghat following information about illegal sand extraction and transportation. During the operation, the team seized six vehicles loaded with illegally mined sand.
