Ravenshaw varsity row deepens as RUTA terms chief warden, wardens' appointments 'unilateral'
India, Aug. 14 -- The faculty members of Ravenshaw University in Odisha's Cuttack city have expressed resentment over the varsity authorities' decision to appoint a new Chief Warden, Deputy Chief Wardens, Wardens and Deputy Wardens for different hostels of the institution.
The Ravenshaw University Teachers' Association (RUTA) has claimed that the varsity authorities appointed a new Chief Warden, Deputy Chief Wardens, Wardens and Deputy Wardens for 13 hostels of the institution without any consultation with the faculty members.
The RUTA submitted a memorandum to Vice-Chancellor (VC) Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra on Friday and urged him to reconsider the decision to appoint a new Chief Warden and other officials for the hostels.
