India, Sept. 29 -- The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday unearthed and seized cash amounting to Rs 5.15 lakh from the residential house of an Assistant Engineer of Badachana block in Jajpur district in connection with a bribery case.

Assistant Engineer Bandita Dash and her associate were arrested by the Vigilance on Monday night for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 from an executant for clearing his pending bills.

Following the arrests, Odisha Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous searches at multiple locations in connection with suspicion of disproportionate assets.

During the searches, officials recovered Rs 5,15,200 in cash from Dash's residential house near Jenamani Mandap in Jagatpur, Kataka. The cash was subsequently seiz...
