India, May 29 -- The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will begin across Odisha from Saturday and continue till June 28, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) R. S. Gopalan said today.

Addressing a press conference, the CEO said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will undertake a door-to-door verification drive across the state as part of the revision process. BLOs have already been trained for the exercise.

According to the Election Commission's plan, BLOs will visit households to verify voter details and rectify discrepancies in electoral records. A total of 45,255 BLOs have been deployed for the exercise. In addition, 31,026 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) have also been appointed to assist in the process.
