India, April 19 -- Large parts of Odisha continued to reel under intense heat on Sunday as the maximum temperature crossed 40 Degree Celsius at 14 places across the state. Large parts of Odisha continued to reel under intense heat on Sunday as the maximum temperature crossed 40 Degree Celsius at 14 places across the state.Western Odisha town of Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43.3 Degree C in the state, followed by Titilagarh at 43 Degree C, Sonepur at 42.3 Degree C, and Bhawanipatna and Sambalpur at 42 Degree C.

As per the IMD data, the maximum temperature was 41.5 Degree C at Sundargarh, Balangir and Rourkela; 41.1 Degree C at Angul; and 41 Degree C at Hirakud and Nuapada.
