Odisha Increases Welfare Assistance for Lawyers by 40%
India, June 22 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a 40 per cent increase in financial assistance provided to advocates under the State Advocates' Welfare Fund.
The welfare fund provides financial support to advocates upon retirement and to their families in the event of their death. The last revision of the assistance amount was made in 2021.
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), advocates with up to five years of practice will be eligible for financial assistance of 1.05 lakh in the event of their death, which will be paid to their nearest family member.
