India, Oct. 14 -- The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved the outcome of the bidding process for the integrated development of the Mahanadi riverfront in Kataka, with an estimated investment of Rs 133.72 crore, excluding GST.

The project aims to transform the Mahanadi riverfront into a vibrant public space by developing recreational, cultural and tourism facilities while improving the riverfront environment. The selected agency will execute the project under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, followed by five years of operation and maintenance.

According to the project details, construction work is expected to begin in November 2026 and be completed by November 2028.
