India, Aug. 30 -- The Karnataka government has appointed Odisha-born entrepreneur Subroto Bagchi as the chairman of an advisory body on skill development.

Bagchi, the co-founder of Mindtree, has been appointed as the chairman of the 'Vision Group for Skill Development' in Karnataka.

The Karnataka government has constituted the advisory body to provide strategic direction to the skilling ecosystem in the state, reports said.

The advisory body has been constituted in accordance with the Karnataka State Skill Policy 2025-32, which aims at building a future-ready industry-relevant workforce across all regions and sectors of Karnataka, they added.
