India, Sept. 28 -- Amid repeated disruptions, the Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly ended today. The House functioned for only five of its scheduled nine working days.

Because of protests and uproar the Question Hour could not be conducted on any of the five days.

The Opposition disrupted proceedings over the amendment to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Act, leading to repeated adjournments and disruptions in the House.

Chief Whip of the ruling party and Boudh MLA Saroj Kumar Pradhan moved a motion seeking adjournment of the Assembly citing the prevailing flood situation in the state. BJP MLAs Upasana Mohapatra and Laxman Bag supported the motion.
