Odisha asks Collectors to enforce revised place-name spellings across govt offices
India, Sept. 6 -- In a directive to District Collectors, the Odisha Government has asked them to ensure uniform use of revised English spellings of various place names in accordance with the State Cabinet's decision.Download Interactive Maps
Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Aravind Kumar Padhee, has written to all Collectors in this regard.
The Collectors have been instructed to ensure widespread use of the revised spellings on nameplates and signboards of all government offices and institutions in their respective districts.
The government has asked the Collectors to accord the exercise the highest priority, take necessary steps for its complete implementation and submit compliance reports...
