India, March 10 -- In an alleged case of 'love jihad', a distraught mother from Odisha's Puri district has appealed to the government to rescue her daughter who she claims is being held and tortured in Bangladesh.The woman, identified as Anjali Parida, has claimed that her minor daughter was lured into a relationship through a mobile application and later taken across the border by a youth on the pretext of love.

As per the complaint with Puri Police, a youth named Sabir befriended Anjali's daughter through a mobile application by posing as a Bengali boy. He then trapped her in a relationship through deception and coercion.
