Odisha: Puri Jagannath temple servitor suspended over indiscipline
India, July 15 -- The authorities of Jagannath temple in Odisha's Puri city today suspended a servitor of the shrine over alleged indiscipline during the performance of rituals of the presiding deities.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief Arabinda Kumar Padhee suspended servitor Rasmi Ranjan Datta Mahapatra for causing disturbance during the Banaka Lagi ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
The SJTA chief suspended the servitor after receiving a report in this regard from the temple Commander. The servitor has been placed under suspension till further orders.
The disciplinary action against the Datta Mahapatra servitor comes a day before the annual Rath Yatra.
