India, Sept. 5 -- Teachers in Odisha will have to wait longer for the state-level recognition that was scheduled for Teachers' Day, September 5, as the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar ceremony for 2024 and 2025 has been cancelled at the last moment.

The Chief Minister's Education Awards ceremony had been scheduled for Teachers' Day, with the venue and timing finalised and invitations already sent to teachers selected for the honours. However, the Panchasakha Shiksha Setu CEO informed all district collectors through a letter dated September 3 that the programme had been cancelled due to an urgent engagement of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
